It may never snow in LA, but bring some holiday cheer to your loved ones with an outing at Santa Monica’s beloved ICE presented by The Plaza at Santa Monica, where you can ice skate under the twinkly lights (and pretend its winter). Located at the corner of Fifth Street and Arizona Avenue, Santa Monica’s 8,000 square foot outdoor ice-skating rink is the perfect date night or a festive way to entertain your kids on the West Side of Los Angeles.
In between skate sessions, grab a Mexican hot chocolate with cinnamon and burnt marshmallow at The Gallery Food Hall’s concession stand. After a few more spins and twirls you may be ready for more food options from our favorite food hall in Santa Monica. Just down the road on the Third Street Promenade with its relaxing deck views and a plethora of options, the food hall is now offering a sampling of indulgent items right near the rink.
Some of our favorites included Beach Barbacoa Tacos made with slow braised meat, pickled onions, and queso fresco from Azule Taqueria, thin crust pizza slices from Jeremy Fall’s new Paper Boy, juicy beef Asian inspired hot dogs from Sumo Dog loaded with wasabi relish, pickled peppers, spicy mayo, onions, furikake and nori. The Voltaggio Brothers new spot STRFSH offers a ridiculously tasty fried chicken sandwich with pickles and boardwalk fries with cheese and chili. End your evening with a coffee Affogato – pour that espresso over ice cream from Sloan’s.
Walk over to Third Street Promenade to finish your holiday shopping, and relax on the Second Level Terrace at The Gallery Food Hall for people watching in a clean comfortable space outside. Purchase $50 or more on a Gallery Food Hall gift card and receive 50% off the total.
Glide through the holidays!
