Go Quick for The Last Hurrah of HURRA! POP-UP on Abbot Kinney

I wish I had found HURRA! POP-UP sooner! Nestled into a corner lot on Venice’s Abbot Kinney, HURRA! is a light filled “gallery-esque” space that hosts an elegant collection of mind provoking fine art and design pieces from Denmark. It’s the first of hopefully many POP-UPs for the two dynamic Danes who have taken to life in LA.

Well traveled and well versed in the musical and graphic arts, Sharin Foo and Camilla Hjerl have utilized their exquisite sence of design, adoration of their homeland, entrepreneurial and artistic spirits, and overall zest for living to embark on the adventure of HURRA!

From the mobile plastic solar-powered Little Sun that raises awareness and a sustainable light source to “off-grid areas of the world” to Jakob Boeskov’s Simulation Day Chaos exhibition of pastel drawings that comment on our technological world in humorously provoking manner, HURRA! provides insight into contemporary Danish art, design and culture right here, in the heart of Venice.

They may indeed be located in what they claim as the “ugliest building on Abbot Kinney,” but the two women have completely transformed it to be something spectacular with light, artful placement and streamlined products. Complete with an off-the-cuff introduction by Jakob Boeskov on his exhibition portion of the HURRA! POP-UP, opening night set the tone and revealed its essence to a swarm of locals who came out to see what this spot is all about. Don’t wait to check it out yourself. They’ve just extended their time on Abbot Kinney until January 31st.

HURRA!: A positive, enthusiastic and celebratory Danish phrase. Expresses the collaborative energy between Sharin and Camilla when discussing all things Danish.
