Heather Dorak, creator of Pilates Platinum, collaborated with actress, Amy Davidson, and acting coach, Leigh Kilton-Smith of “Friends of El Faro” to host a fabulous event in her streamlined Brentwood studio. Their evening extravaganza raised a whopping $16,000 for Casa Hogar Sion Orphanage in Mexico. Clients noshed on tasty morsels provided by KLEAN LA, sipped on lovely libations, perused the auction tables filled with a plethora of stuffed baskets, and greeted each other with hugs and laughter. It was an evening filled with great feelings about gathering for a great cause.
Born into a family of educators, Heather Dorak entered an elementary teacher preparation program in college before redirecting her love of teaching and fitness into creating a mini-kingdom of Pilates studios at the mere age of 22. The evening’s effort to help raise funds to house, clothe, feed, and enable orphaned kids in Mexico to go to school was a way for Heather to give a beautiful gift to children through the platform of her booming business.
While chatting with Heather, I couldn’t get over how much she has accomplished in business at such a young age. Maybe it’s the Pilates that keeps her so youthful and radiant. Maybe it’s because she is doing what she loves. Pilates Platinum has quickly turned into a fitness hot spot in LA. And, it’s no wonder. All four of her impeccable studios house state of the art equipment and offer the best of the best in trainers. And, her studios are constantly popping with events. Come out to the Hollywood studio this Tuesday, January 28th to partake in a Lorna Jane Activewear trunk show. And while you’re there, sign up to begin your journey with Pilates Platinum that will activate your core and get your whole body Pilates svelte. You’ll be better than fabulous, both inside and out!
