Ladies swarmed inside the beautiful flagship Dermalogica store on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica this Holiday Season for a fun night of socializing, skin care and more. We left looking and feeling refreshed and lovely after partaking in beauty offerings by special guests Sechoir, Frilly Lilly and Chelsea Jade Allen. And with a small purchase of Dermalogica products after benefiting from a Skin Mapping analysis by one of their expert therapist, our arms were adorned with a bag full of gift card treats from all of them, along with other fabulous Montana Avenue establishments; Lucy and Michael Stars, to clothe our bodies during and after a weeks worth of complimentary sessions at Yogaworks, and a beautiful printed Spun scarf by Subtle Luxury to wrap around our shoulders.
After being welcomed at the door with the beautiful smile of Assistant Manager Joanna Greenfield, Manager Erin Carey spoke to me with passion about the company, her store and the line of products as if they were all her own. “It’s like my baby,” she exclaimed. It was refreshing and inspiring to talk with her. And her beautiful glowing skin evidenced the powerful effects of all that she so full heartedly believes in. In fact all the girls at Dermalogica have glowing even skin, so I was hooked from the start to indulge and find out more. Highlighting the event for me was a Skin Mapping analysis with Julia Fahrback. Trained to expertise level by Dermalogica and as sweet as can be, she examined all 14 zones of my face in minutes and was instantly able to suggest a line of hydrating products from gentle cleansers to thick and luscious serums and creams to plump up my epidermis from the inside out. She explained to me that all Dermalogica products have a pure concentrated level of key ingredients that are molecularly tiny enough to penetrate deeply and really feed and nourish underneath the initial layers of the skin. I’ve been using the line of products she suggested to me for a week now. They continue to feel luxurious and soak into my skin beautifully. I already see a difference in the hydration levels. I especially love the delicate nature of the Daily Microfoliant and healing Skin Hydrating Masque and Super Rich Repair Cream.
Sechoir (Seh-Schwahr) stylists took two at a time into the front Dermalogica facial pods where they set up shop to tassel and curl ladies’ locks. Sechoir is a beautiful new hybrid hair care salon that provides rockin blowouts, color and scissor artistry, scalp and hair therapy, as well aroma sensory massages and fun hair accessories and makeup application to get you good and ready to “doo” up the town. Walking into the petite, stylish boutique salon, dressed in baby blues and whites and with an entrance that rises up to the sky, you’ll sure to be greeted by warm smiles, welcoming you to recline and relax for a lovely session that’s all about you. You can find Sechoir up the street from Dermalogica on the 11th block of Montana Avenue.
Frilly Lilly set up a brow waxing station at Dermalogica for the evening too. You can find this brand new little beauty parlor tucked in next to Shabby Chic near the corner of 10th street. Feminine and sweet, Frilly Lilly feels like an extension of home. Birthed out of Canada, founder Debra Van Dyke, has thankfully crafted her new Frilly Lilly venture on Montana Avenue with a small host of specialists to care for you and your skin. Upon entrance, you can peruse an array of jewelry and signature body butters, before being whisked away to smooth out your pretty limbs, lips, chins or brows with natural waxes to make every millimeter of you soft to the touch.
To complete the pampering experience of the evening, make up artist Chelsea Jade Allen powdered, contoured and painted just the right combinations of colors to the pretty faces that sat before her. Your eyes, cheeks and lips can experience the benefit of her artistry too, by hiring her to add her unique touch of dramatics to enhance and bring forth your own natural California beauty. Or book Chelsea to create looks for your advertisement campaigns, films, photo shoots or other creative endeavors.
Girls’ Night Out at Dermalogica was a fabulous evening of primping & pampering with beauty artisans that most certainly will outlast the experience on my end. Check them out on your next Montana Avenue romp. And certainly get into Dermalogica for a Skin Mapping analysis and facial in one of their awesome signature pods. With consistent care, you’re sure to accrue a beautiful even Dermalogica glow. Who wouldn’t want that?
