Just before the Oscars whirlwind swept through LA, a magical evening took place in a majestic nook of the Hollywood Hills – marked by fashion, music, makeovers, and – literally – walking on water.
The gala, aptly titled, Gifting Your Spectrum, benefitted Autism Speaks, a global research, support, and advocacy organization centered on the advancement of Autism treatment and awareness. Brandon Cohen of talent management firm BACTalent, teamed up with filmmaker and author Raoul Mongilardi of OMRPM Productions, to produce this truly memorable affair.
After passing the star-studded red carpet and impressive press line-up, guests entered the halls of the private estate of P&L Media Emmy Producers Lisa Lew and Peter Brennan. Everyone was dressed to the nines and the entrance was buzzing.
First stop – a tour through the silent auction room featuring elite sports memorabilia from the LA Lakers and MLB, and accessories by luxury brands like Christian Louboutin and John Varvatos. Beverly Hills jeweler Helen Ficalora contributed pieces, and watches by Fossil Watches were auctioned as well.
Next stop – the luxurious living room, where mingling guests enjoyed passed hors-d’oeuvres sponsored by The Kitchen, Primal Kitchen, and Good Greek Grill. Guests indulged in slices of gourmet pizza by Fresh Brothers, and there was also a delicious station by The District by Hannah An. Cocktails were bountiful too, provided by Carbonadi Vodka, Emerald Hare, and Chandon.
But once everyone placed their bids, said their hellos, and had their champagne in hand, guests were led outside for the main event. And jaws dropped the moment they stepped outside.
Hundreds of guests floated through a multi-level oasis of lush, larger-than-life, illuminated palm trees, exotic greenery, and rock formations – all surrounding a pool… turned-catwalk. A see-through lucite runway ran right over the water – and guests couldn’t help but take turns strutting across this sleek catwalk pool!
Celebs like Janice Dickinson and Bai Ling were spotted at the exclusive poolside tables, where they got close-up views of the eccentric, glam-rock themed fashion show presented by Maison Privee and BELLO Magazine. Celebrity hairstylist Chaz Dean of WEN Her & Body Care styled the show, and Jacob Meir designed the looks. His specialty boutique on Melrose Ave., For the Stars, is most known for outfitting stars like Katy Perry, Beyonce, and Lady Gaga.
For a more casual look, guests could shop for hand-painted, sustainable, printed tee-shirts in the Third Wolf mini pop-up boutique that was set up for the evening. Everyone was also treated to makeovers by Stare Cosmetics. Their line of long-lasting lip stains lasted the whole night through!
The highlight of the evening was the nostalgic performance by Grammy Winning 90s pop group All-4-One… And the presentation by the Autism Speaks regional board was informative and moving as well.
At the close of the night, the event lived up to its name and guests received gift bags packed with luxury items, including lipsticks and glosses from Stare and a collection of shampoos, conditioners, mousses, gels, and nourishing treatments by WEN. A favorite in the bag was also the scented candle by CBT Candles.
It is not every day that celebs, influencers, and Hollywood elite gather to walk on water in support of such an important cause… Gifting Your Spectrum 2018 was certainly a night to remember!
