After assessing my wellness and beauty needs through a survey, my session began by laying on the couch to try their new Therabody SmartGoggles ~ which give you a warming relaxing temple massage 🎧 paired with a personal guided sound bath (while I held their resident dog). 🐶 This Smart Relax Package helps reduce anxiety and stress and the SmartGoggles biometrics sensor provides personalized treatments based on your specific heart rate.  Plus, guests can take home a brand new SmartGoggle with this package.

Originally created by Carole Bamford in the English countryside, Bamford individually crafts treatments using specially formulated products from the Bamford body and skincare ranges made from natural and organic ingredients certified to the highest standard. We first discovered Bamford bath care and skincare products many years ago at the Malibu Beach Inn.

I love how the spa 🧖🏼‍♀️ treated me according to my wellness needs. I haven’t slept in weeks as my father-in-law has been battling brain cancer – a cruel, relentless, and aggressive disease with no real cure and is the most underfunded cancer because it’s considered rare. It has been the toughest time watching someone you love deal with the end of their life this way. This week I had to do the hardest thing I’ve ever done and record a final message for my husband to play for him. 💔 Bamford Wellness Spa 🧖🏼‍♀️ was the distraction I needed for some calm, relaxation, and sleep since I’ve been so sick and upset. 😞 

You too can get swept away with one of their packages like the Paradise package I experienced – consisting of many treatments such as a red light therapy face mask, eye collagen gel mask treatment (to repair, firm, and plump), and Cryo Thermal Shock that transforms skin on a cellular level. The 25-minute Cryo treatment on my stomach focused on sculpting without micro-damage as they used a wand to deep massage my belly with hot, then cold, and then hot temperatures again. This process is supposed to trap and eliminate stubborn fat while kickstarting lymphatic drainage for that chiseled look. They recommend 5 treatments but I have to say after one session my stomach looked notably better a few days later.

Also, the red light therapy with red, amber, and infrared lights triggers a natural, intracellular reaction within the dermis, similar to how plants use light to create energy. This treatment leads to increased production of new proteins, collagen, and elastin, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

My spa session continued with an incredibly relaxing massage on a water bed color therapy table ending with a sound wave Power Nap with binaural beats over headphones. An infrared pulsed electromagnetic therapy mat is used to reduce stress, soothe muscles, improve energy, and promote restful sleep. It worked! I was lulled into utter relaxation and a catnap.  

The holistic spa features five treatment rooms and a menu of nourishing massages, facials, and unique daily offerings. There isn’t a sauna or jacuzzi here but a shower room with all the amenities available and a very unique menu of wellness treatments. As part of the loving rituals of this calming escape, guests can take home an intention-setting herbal sachet bag after picking relaxing herbs with your choice of infused aromatherapy oils – perfect to tuck under your pillow.
