In 2024, Perry’s Fine Wines & Liquors expanded to Palm Springs from Provincetown, Cape Cod, MA, a cornerstone of the community since 1934. This past week (March 19, 2025) Perry’s announced the release of Perry’s new Chardonnay, created in support of Palm Springs Art Museum. Launched to celebrate the union of fine wine and fine art in Palm Springs and the wider Coachella Valley, Perry’s will donate $1 from each bottle sold to Palm Springs Art Museum to support the artistic community.
The new Perry’s Chardonnay is like a work of art as the label showcases stunning photography selected from the Museum’s archive, by Stephen H. Willard, celebrated for his striking depictions of the desert landscape.

Perry’s Co-Owner Charlie Greener’s journey in the wine industry began with his first job at the Robert Mondavi Winery, an experience that opened his eyes to the beauty of wine and the philosophy of celebrating its connection to art and food. “My time in Napa left an indelible impression on me,” he recalls. Years later, he and his husband, Co-Owner Billy Marshall, left their corporate careers to take over Perry’s wine retail business in Provincetown, MA—home to the nation’s oldest continuous artist colony.

Their passion for the arts led them to launch Perry’s Rosé, a wine celebrating the intersection of fine wine and art on Cape Cod. The refreshing rose is sold for just $20.00. Designed by a Provincetown Arts Association and Museum (PAAM) member artist, the label reflects this deep connection, with Perry’s donating $1 from each bottle sold to support PAAM’s work. Now, their commitment to artistic collaboration continues in the West Coast through this new exciting partnership.
Capturing California in a Glass
With the opening of their new store in Palm Springs, Greener and Marshall set out to create a wine that showcases the best of California while complementing the relaxed West Coast lifestyle. The new Perry’s Chardonnay captures that essence, made from organic grapes grown in Mendocino County. A beautifully balanced profile—crisp and fresh, yet rounded and textured, with remarkable depth and complexity, elegant and bright acidity – the wine is an ideal companion for Palm Springs living, whether enjoyed poolside or paired with a variety of dishes. The Chardonnay shines alongside charcuterie, fish, and poultry, or simply as a refreshing glass shared in the sunshine with good company.

The grapes are grown on the Hawkeye Ranch, located on the upper reaches of the Russian River, nestled in the coastal mountains of Mendocino County. Farmed for five generations by the Johnson family, the lush, fertile valley soil, coupled with warm summer days and coastally influenced cool evenings make it a special place to grow beautifully balanced grapes with complex flavor. The Perry’s Chardonnay grapes are whole cluster pressed and fermented in stainless steel before being transferred to inert old oak barrels and aged on the lees for six months before being bottled un-fined & un-filtered.
