The Women of Impact 2026 Luncheon kicked off Oscars Weekend on Friday, March 13, 2026, with an inspiring afternoon that honored the trailblazing leaders, entrepreneurs, creatives, and changemakers shaping Los Angeles and beyond.

At the luncheon, celebrating the inspiring women of Los Angeles, LA Magazine Editor Jasmin Rosemberg and publisher Chris Gialanella gathered 500 women at the Beverly Hilton, in honor of female voices making an impact in the city. The event brought to life the Los Angeles Magazine cover story featuring actress Olivia Munn—a deeply personal profile that goes far beyond Hollywood success.

In the article and at the luncheon, Munn shared her inspiring journey of strength and focus, following her diagnosis with breast cancer. Despite having a normal mammogram and ulstrasound, a lifetime breast cancer risk assessment test revealed that her risk was significantly elevated. That information ultimately led to further testing and life-saving treatment. Over the course of the year, Munn underwent five surgeries while continuing to advocate for early detection and awareness.

Her story is also intertwined with family. Shortly after Munn’s diagnosis, her mother was also diagnosed with breast cancer, adding another layer of family support and resilience to the actress’s journey.
Munn has been vocal about the importance of understanding your personal risk factors and exploring additional screening tools. For women with dense breast tissue, doctors often recommend a breast ultrasound in addition to a yearly mammogram, though it is not always fully covered by insurance. Increasing awareness about these options is something many physicians and advocates are encouraging women to discuss with their healthcare providers.

Through Rosemberg’s thoughtful interview, Munn also reflects on her love for Los Angeles and the support system she has found in the city, while navigating one of the most challenging years of her life. Munn was recognized as the 2026 Woman of the Year for her incredible journey overcoming breast cancer and advocating for awareness and testing, as well as her standout acting work on the hit Apple TV show Friends and Neighbors which debuts Season 2 in early April 2026.

Her message is clear: understanding your risk, asking questions, and advocating for your health can make all the difference.
