Not only is Chagoury Couture on the cover of Harper’s Bizarre this month, but the creative fashion designer who often melds French refinement and Middle Eastern opulence, has been approached by Cirque du Soleil to design custom pieces for NeNe Leakes. Upon Zumanity celebrating its 10th anniversary, Cirque du Soleil has never featured a celebrity in any performance in its 30 years as a company.
Zumanity, The sensual Side of Cirque du Soleil, will be staring TV personality and actress, NeNe Leakes. Zumanity will be showing in Vegas from June 27 to July 1, and will feature NeNe as the “Mistress of Sensuality.”
Chagoury began his career working under the legendary designer Christian Dior in Paris. Since launching his self-titled line, Chagoury has quickly amassed a high-profile clientele, and continues to dress Hollywood starlets, such as Milla Jovovich, Eva Longoria, Katy Perry, Carrie Underwood, Hayden Panettiere, Sarah Hyland, and many others. Chagoury’s creations have had a visible presence at numerous award shows, premiers, galas, and film festivals. His visibility has also expanded to include editorial attention from a variety of national and international publications, including Glamour, ELLE, The Los Angeles Times, InStyle Russia, Lucky, GENLUX, and Brides Magazine, to name a few.

On June 23, 2014, Nene Leakes gave an exclusive sneak peek in Las Vegas for her Cirque du Soleil, Zumanity performance. The live rehearsal took place at New York New York Hotel with reporters in attendance to preview what’s to come with Zumanity and Nene. All of Nene’s costumes have been custom designed by Gilbert Chagoury, of Chagoury Couture, and has been working closely with Nene for months.
Gilbert Chagoury joins a small group of affluent designers such as Annie Horth and Dominique Lemieux who have been hand-selected to design costumes for these amazing and successful shows.
Born in Lebanon and raised in Paris, Chagoury graduated from Parsons School of Design. He then worked for legendary designer Christian Dior in Paris, where he not only advanced his skills as a couturier, but also acquired an air of French refinement that continues to translate through his work. Upon moving to Los Angeles, Chagoury recognized an untapped market for his trade. With no European-style atelier or truly custom couturier, the designer successfully filled this void with the launch his eponymous Beverly Hills-based collection in 2009. From bespoke originals to his prêt-à-porter collections, Chagoury creates pieces that are eminently wearable yet intrinsically flattering, all while maintaining an unwavering focus on his customer’s satisfaction. He honors each of them with highly personalized service, offering one-on-one consultations where his expertise and exacting standards combine to reflect the spirit of the wearer. Today, Chagoury continues to build a loyal following of elite clientele, who are drawn to his instinct for luxury, distinguished skill and unique, personalized service.
