Richstone Family Center celebrated their 40th Birthday Beach Bash at the lovely King Harbor Yacht Club on the sandy shoreline of Redondo Beach this summer with great music, delectable cuisine and libations, and tons and tons of love. The evening, hosted by President and CEO, Roger Van Remmen, culminated with the sweetest of fireworks display, beautifully illuminating Richstone’s mission to mend broken hearts from the cyclical travesty of child abuse.
Through center-based, school and community programs, classes and group, Richstone has provided a caring haven and both emotional and academic counseling to the victims and perpetrators of abuse. They have and continue to close circles of abuse by replacing hurt and confusion with love and understanding. Feelings of positivity, appreciation, and empathy were palpable throughout the whole evening as Richstone elegantly celebrated their growth, accomplishments and the people who have helped along the way along the last 40 years.
Guests kicked up their heels together to the rhythms of a live band until the sun set behind the surf, while others indulged in the generous offering of samples from a fine array of local restaurants: R10 Social House, Doma Kitchen, Bluewater Grill, Coni’Seafood, Zazou and more! Wine and incredible specialty brews were poured with smiles and skill by Hug Cellars, Ranchero Cellars, Sierra Nevada, King Harbor Brewing Co., and Absolution Brewing Company along with a refreshing mojito bar. I can’t wait to go back to every singly restaurant and brewery to experience more of their incredible creations. And, I am excited to follow the increasing growth and accomplishments of this incredibly important organization. Thank you, Richstone Family Center, for not only a wonderful evening, but for all that you do to mend broken hearts.
