In a world were smartphones are attached to us night and day, Millennials sometimes do not see the importance in wearing a watch, of course unless it has the ability to carry apps, talk to you, do your laundry, and the list goes on. Iwatches may be a thing of today, but the classic appeal of gorgeous wrist watches is timeless and classic. Some people refer to having designer watches as a status thing, but for some it means taste, style, and understanding craftsmanship. Many refer to Rolex, Cartier, Panerai, Patek Philippe, and IWC as the staples gracing the wrists of Hollywood’s Hottest men. Those who wear these are not concerned with the trends of today, but value the fact that this luxury item can be worn for generations. A luxury watch should have limited production and high quality of hand finishing.

Glashutte Original should join this roster. This German watch has earned a global reputation for the highest standards and excellence in the German art of watchmaking since more than 170 years, and has maintained this reputation due to the passion, patience, rare skills, and experience within their craft. The Glashutte Original manufactory brings the finest in watchmaking traditions together and combines them under one roof with the most advanced of contemporary materials and production technologies.
Recently, Glashutte presented their “Impressions” of the historic watchmaker’s book, which debuted in Los Angeles with special guest Joel McHale at MILK Studios. This event exemplified all things classic in its brand and event. Guests were invited by traditional personal invitations, not your normal electronic evite, and were greeted with a beautiful ambiance and catering by LA’s finest cocktails and bites.

Joel McHale celebrated the art and history of watchmaking with Glashutte Original as co-host of the brands first manufactory book, Impressions. As contributor to the creation of the book, McHale, as well as additional speakers, read excerpts from the book.
Guests were able to view and try on exclusive timepieces from the luxury brand, coveted amongst watch aficionados, and watch as precision watchmakers showcased the artistic process on site. The tradition of creating fine watches dates back centuries. Today we may desire to have the latest trend, but having a goal to own a classic luxury item such as a Glashutte Original is a goal that is admired.
