Food Network Star Winner Chef Tregaye Fraser Dishes on Chef Week at Villa Del Palmar at The Islands of Loreto, Mexico

Food Network Star winner Tregaye Fraser took some time to chat about her time in Loreto, Mexico and her new role on The Food Network’s Kitchen Sink.

On Headlining Chef Week at Villa Del Palmar at The Islands of Loreto, Mexico

Loreto, Mexico on the Baja was so exciting. I did a few demos – I did a barbeque poolside demo, I did a taco night theme and I did a five-course dinner. And I drank tequila (laughs).

On what inspired her cooking following her time in Loreto, Mexico?

We all love a good taco – I love the spice, I love the flavoring. I am always up for some good cumin, some good cilantro. I love the way Mexican cuisine is about flavor building. It is almost an experience – you can taste each ingredient one by one from the love that is put into the food.

On her new hosting duties on Food Network’s Kitchen Sink?

Kitchen Sink is where we teach kitchen hacks, everyday foods and basically how to make fun, quick party things. We kick it up a notch and make it easier and faster – five ingredient pastas, giant ice cream sandwiches – different things. It is me, my co-hosts Fanny (Slater) and Spike (Mendelsohn) and we have some special guests.

Spike has so many restaurants. His food knowledge is so extensive – he will almost make you feel dumb. Its not a bad thing – he just knows everything about food. Fanny is just hilarious. She lightens the mood – I have never seen her have a bad day.
