At a tastemaker event hosted this month at The Eric Buterbaugh Gallery, guests and a panel celebrated the official Los Angeles launch of the Maven Reserve car sharing app. In a partnership with ‘A Drink With’, Maven hosted a live intimate interview with Rob Crabbe, executive producer of “The Late Late Show with James Corden” where he talked about the show’s hit segment ‘Carpool Karaoke.’

Maven touts itself as “car sharing, refined.” It offers a fully connected fleet of General Motors vehicles, featuring new cars loaded with technology allowing users to personalize the entire experience. For a 28-day experience, members bring their digital lives into the vehicles through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, including contacts, favorites and maps. Maven advisor support is available through OnStar for questions, roadside assistance and emergency response, allowing peace of mind for the journey.

During the talk, Crabbe reminisced how Tom Hanks was their first guest – and how the rest is history. When asked about his most unexpected experience on the set of ‘Carpool Karaoke,’ Crabbe said that while filming with The Red Hot Chili Peppers, the crew was flagged down by a frantic mother holding her baby who wasn’t breathing. The band rushed to assist the woman, and while everyone made calls to 911, musician Anthony Kiedis held the distressed baby, rubbed its chest and miraculously soothed it back to health.

Crabbed also discussed the viral nature of today’s digital content and entertainment industry, and how leaders in the space are “disrupting” late-night’s traditional broadcast platform. Guests witnessed and took part in the conversation, which was published on ADrinkWith.com this week, while nibbling artisan bites prepared by Chef Michael Hung.
