Just a year old, the Farmhouse Collective in Riverside, California makes the perfect easy pitstop for amazing affordable food options between Los Angeles and Palm Springs.

The buildings of Farmhouse Collective are some 73 years old and were originally built as the historic Farm House Motel in 1953. Having languished vacant for years, the derelict motor court was recently restored into a dining, shopping, and music venue. The newly renovated community space officially opened on March 29, 2025. The Farm House Collective is an evolution of the food hall concept, with an emphasis on community gathering and programming aimed at creating a social hub for the Riverside community and visitors.

The calm stretch includes a variety of amazing restaurant options, but we suggest starting with the Los Angeles fried chicken concept, born from Chef Brandon Kida, called Go Go Bird 🍗 Kida is also responsible for the menu at ever popular Lost Property in Palm Springs. Inspired by flavors from Chef Kida’s childhood in Los Angeles, diners can enjoy signature items like the Hot Honey Fried Chicken Sandwich and Chicken Tenders — marinated in a special blend, then fried and finished with a Szechuan-style chili oil for a crispy burst of flavor. CRISP AND JUICY!

Chicken Tenders come with amazing array of specialty sauces – honey mustard was our favorite – plus sides, like a generous portion of oozing Mac and Cheese, a cold housemate Mac Salad similar to what you might find on a Hawaii lunch plate, pickles, slaw, and Furikake Fries!
