Cecconi’s in West Hollywood, a block from home, felt not like the restaurant I know at all. A searchlight scanned the skies to let me know I had arrived. Transformed for this lively kickoff bash, celebrities arrived via the latest Audi editions for this pre Golden Globe revelry. Men in suits everywhere dizzied me as the champagne flowed around a warm glow and yellow roses. Mini gourmet pizzas, grilled cheese beef bites and perfectly decorated petit pastries swarmed around us as we mingled with fellow nominees and beautiful people on the tented patio and dance floor.
I sashayed up to the packed bar space next to fashion maven Louise Roe as my friend worked hard to make sure her intern was working the carpet. I spotted Jamie Chung who I have seen at numerous events and met gracious Kate Walsh wearing a super wildly fun dress that looked like liquid red candy. For a moment, I felt like I was in New York, until the palm trees beckoned from the open ceiling.
Happy I wore black since it seemed to be a good ‘fitting in’ choice, the Golden Globes affair kicked into high-gear Thursday, January 8 as Audi saluted some of this year’s brightest stars in the Land of Dreams.
The celebrity attendees included Liev Schreiber (“Ray Donovan”), Naomi Watts (“St. Vincent”), Edward Norton (“Birdman”), Jessica Chastain (“A Most Violent Year”), Christoph Waltz (“Big Eyes”), Allison Tolman (“Fargo”), Joanne Froggatt and Lesley Nicol (“Downton Abbey”), Kate Walsh (“Bad Judge”), Missi Pyle (“Gone Girl”), Jamie Chung (“Big Hero 6”), Matt McGorry (“How to Get Away With Murder”), Cheryl Burke (“Dancing With the Stars”), Jessica Szohr (“The Internship”), James Nesbitt (“The Missing”), Maggie Grace (“Taken 3”), Perrey Reeves (“Entourage”), TV personality Louise Roe and more.
