On the Sunset Gower Studio Lot, the restaurant Food and Bounty run by Colombian Italian Chef Helen Cavallo uses about a 1,000 plants to create 5,000 square feet of food from a small plot. This hydroponic love grows with no soil and uses 85% less water. Plants and veggies sprout lovingly on tall columns making us realize anything is possible in the California sun. LA Urban Farms oversees this Real Food. Real Fresh.
Chef Helen Cavallo is available for private catering and events, both small and grand. The highly creative food bites she prepared tantalized our eyes and our tastebuds. From perfect spoonfuls of Eggplant Parmesan to elegant color bursting Vegan Tacos to Strawberry Shortcake Bites that included a swirl in flowers and sauces artistically placed on a small plate. Each bite focused on bold ingredients.
Helen is the host of Disney Channel’s “That’s Fresh,” a short-form cooking show for moms and families produced by Disney. She is a big personality on Channel 13 in Colombia where the show That’s Fresh Colombia focuses on two of Helen’s favorite things, food and family, bringing her easy to make and delicious recipes to her family’s kitchen where Helen and her aunts cook together… back to her roots.
People can call the restaurant to order food and pick it up at the guard shack. Rumor has it Chef Helen Cavallo is looking for a second restaurant location off the lot and you just may see her culinary talents memorialized in a cookbook soon.

You really captured everything!!!
wow, Food and Bounty – how interesting the way she uses hydroponics. super impressed. Also love the idea of blending food and family because some of my fondest memories with my family are around food, and visa versa. What a treat. I feature caterers in los angeles on my site cater.com so I have an extra appreciation for featuring this awesome caterer.
