The Pikey’s 3rd Annual Thanksgiving Day Celebration with Some British Flair in Hollywood

One of the best Thanksgiving meals we have enjoyed outside of our aunt’s home in Connecticut was a quiet turkey evening we had at The Pikey. For around $40 you can enjoy Chef Ralph Johnson’s Thanksgiving-inspired creations with specials of  Slow Roasted Organic Free Range Turkey Breast with Turkey Leg Sausage, Baked Onion, Buttermilk Biscuits, Classic Green Bean Casserole and Turkey Neck Gravy or Confit & Deep Fried Turkey Leg with Corn Bread, Gindo’s Hot Sauce andTwo Sumptuous Side Dishes.

On Thursday November 26th from 1pm – 2am, sample fresh produce with British classics that pair brilliantly with The Pikey’s expertly mixed craft cocktails.

Sambar – Thanksgiving By Way of India in Culver City image001

Revered chef and owner Akasha Richmond is planning a festive India-inspired Thanksgiving menu at her newest concept to open – Sambar. At her eponymous restaurant AKASHA the traditional holiday spread books up weeks in advance. Now the traditional Thanksgiving feast at AKASHA comes complete with an elaborate pie buffet (an ode to Akasha’s own love of pie). Akasha will now carry the Thanksgiving feast and tradition on at her newest concept Sambar as she aims to offer a departure from the traditional green beans and mashed potatoes with an Indian twist on the holiday. Think Garam Masala and Tomato Braised Turkey; Bengali Five Spice Jalapeno Cornbread Stuffing; South Indian Green Bean Stir Fry with curry leaves and coconut, and Chai Spiced Pumpkin Pie with Vanilla Whipped Cream to name a few dishes that may be found at Sambar this Thanksgiving.

image004Terrine’s First Thanksgiving on Beverly in West Hollywood 

An American alongside two French partners, Terrine Executive Chef/Owner Kris Morningstar has started a tradition to celebrate the American holidays—all day, all-you-can-eat BBQ! First, he kicked things off with the Fourth of July—which saw over 500 guests—before reprising the event for Labor Day. Now, to celebrate the restaurant’s first-ever Thanksgiving on Beverly Blvd, Terrine is throwing an all-you-can-eat Thanksgiving Feast. For $45 (excluding tax, beverages, and gratuity), guests can dig into traditional Thanksgiving dishes with all the fixings, prepared with a signature Terrine twist from Chef Morningstar. The feast will take place on Thanksgiving Day from 12 – 9 p.m. and see the same layout as the other BBQs, with everything on a communal table and Kris out in the open chatting with guests and carving turkeys.

Chef and owner Tal Ronnen of the beloved Crossroads restaurant, favored by herbivores and carnivores alike including high-profile diners such as Jay Z, Beyonce, Oprah Winfrey, former president Bill Clinton, Katy Perry, and Travis Barker to name a few, is keeping busy this fall with the release of his next book Crossroads (Artisan Books). Inspired by favorites and signatures off of the menu such as his Artichoke Oysters and Crab Cakes to the decadent pastas made in-house by executive chef Scot Jones, this fall diners can enjoy an elaborate spread of indulgent Thanksgiving holiday dishes that any host can feel proud to serve her guests when Crossroads takes over your home kitchen this season. Crossroads will cater your Thanksgiving with Mezze, Mini Moroccan Meatballs, Green Chickpea Falafel, to Oven Roasted Kabocha Squash, Smoked Carrot “lox” and Risotto Cakes to name a few. The restaurant located at 8284 Melrose Ave will also be open for the Thanksgiving holiday serving up a forest-to-table menu for those who would prefer to enjoy Thanksgiving away from home.

Brazilian Steakhouse Fogo de Chão, who has two locations in Los Angeles (Beverly Hills and their newest location, which opened less than a year ago in Downtown LA) will be offering a full Thanksgiving menu – Churrasco style!  Guests can experience a little taste of Brazilian culture this Thanksgiving with the centuries-old tradition of gauchos grilling meats over an open flame and serving tableside.  Fogo de Chão will be serving all the Thanksgiving favorites including roasted turkey (carved and served tableside), gravy, cranberry sauce, sweet potato casserole, as well as some Brazilian inspired items like sage & apple dressing with Brazilian sausage all Thanksgiving weekend beginning on Thursday, November 26.

Huckleberry‘s Beloved Cafe and Bakery in Santa Monica

Catering to its fans with a special Thanksgiving carry-out menu, comforting dishes will include Braised Organic Turkey Thighs with white wine, mushrooms, and thyme; Bartell Ranch Beef Brisket; and Savory Cornbread Pudding with butternut squash, kale, caramelized onions, and sage. Of course, one has to save room for one of Co-Owner and Baker Zoe Nathan’s famed desserts, like Maple Walnut Pie, Gluten-Free Orange Cranberry Cake, and Take & Bake items which come in a Pyrex baking dish like Caramel Apple Cranberry Pie and Coffee Cake.

Sweet Rose Creamery for Ice Cream Cakes and Pies

Stay cool this season with their seasonal ice cream cakes and pies (must be ordered five days in advance) as well as its signature ice creams in to-go pints.  Fans can look forward to November flavors like Brown Sugar with Butter Pecan, Apple Pie and Dairy-Free Sorbets like Cranberry Orange and Mulled Apple Cider. Details on special orders can be found here, and orders must be picked up before Thanksgiving Day.

Esters Wine Shop & Bar for Beverages and Artisanal Add-ons

Only the marketplace section will be open on Thanksgiving from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., so with a little help from Co-Owner and Wine Director Kathryn Coker, folks can pick up that perfect wine, champagne, or craft beer to pair with the turkey. Grab-and-go artisanal items like cheese, charcuterie, SQIRL jams, Solstice Canyon almond butters, Compartes chocolates, Milo & Olive breads, jarred spreads and spiced nuts from Chef Jeremy Fox, and more can also help round out the meal and make a nice host/hostess gift.

The Thanksgiving catering menu has been rolled out, so fans can enjoy chocolatier and chef Valerie Gordon’s autumnal desserts like Winter Luxury Pumpkin Pie, made with one of the best pumpkin varietals for pie baking, Pear & Vanilla Cream Tart, Fall Fruit Galette, and Salted Caramel Bread Pudding.  All orders must be placed by Saturday, November 21 by e-mailing shop@valerieconfections.com or by calling 213.739.8149, and pick-ups can be arranged at the Silver Lake Shop, Valerie Echo Park, and Valerie at Grand Central Market on Wednesday, November 25.

Not open Thanksgiving Day,  Little Next Door will be filling orders for their signature “Turkey Bread”—a image008delicious turkey shaped baguette. Make sure to order in advance!

Munchery.com will deliver turkey dinner right to your door. Accepting orders starting Monday, November 23. Delivering begins Monday, November 23 to November 25.
