Another beautiful evening at the Beverly Hilton occurred December 11 with the American Ballet Theatre (ABT) reminding us that the holidays are actually near in 80 degree Los Angeles.

The magic of the ballet transported me back to childhood holidays in the east coast. Each act of grace and nimbleness and poise captured our attention over dinner. From Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, I Feel the Earth Move, to Elegy Pas de Deux, all eight acts offered us an outstanding taste of the Company’s varied repertoire.

The one-night-only performance sponsored by Harry Winston, Inc. showcased world-renowned artists of the American Ballet Theatre including principal dancers Stella Abrera, Misty Copeland, Gillian Murphy, Hee Seo, Daniil Simkin, and Cory Stearns, followed by dessert with the dancers. A British dancer sat at our table allowing us to ask him a myriad of questions from his health and training to how he found his way to the American Ballet Theatre.

Judy Morr, Executive Vice President of Segerstrom Center for the Arts, was honored for her dedication and service to dance and the performing arts community. Proceeds from the Holiday Benefit support American Ballet Theatre and its educational programs.
