Celebrities & Champagne Sparkled at The 2018 EcoLuxe Pre-Oscars Luxury Lounge

On Friday, March 2nd, event producer extraordinaire Debbie Durkin brought out all the stops at her 2018 Pre-Oscars Celebrity Garden party – it was an afternoon of luxury gifting, fabulous music, gourmet food, and high-profile talent.

The Beverly Hilton was buzzing as the energetic music from the event permeated the marble lobby.  UK DJG was in the house spinning, setting the tone for the festivities.  I even got to meet his proud mama, who welcomed me to the suite.

After snapping some red carpet photos, my first stop was organic skincare line Madara.  This all-natural line features such products as an SOS Instant Moisture + Radiance Hydramask and Multi-action Micellar Water with Hydraluronic Acid.  Because Madara is the world’s first birch water based anti-aging skin care line, I was excited to go home and try their hydrating products!

One of my favorite stops in the lounge was the True Natural table, offering products like True Natural Self Tan.  It’s a gluten-free, vegan, organic, sunless self-tanner with vanilla coconut, aloe vera, and pomegranate extracts, and it won the Elle Magazine Green Star Award for its healthy, safe, and cruelty-free ingredients.

Guests enjoyed testing the Octovie skincare brush – which is actually not a brush at all!  After applying any moisturizer, this hypoallergenic alternative to a loofah exfoliates and smooths skin surfaces.  My hands felt soft and fresh, just in time to feel the silky texture of the fine handcrafted leather products offered by the LA-based bag designer, Sandast.

Sandast carries high-end travel duffles, briefcases, backpacks, and even wine bottle carriers.   It was nice to learn that they can custom create any of their leather goods in one of their four unique color offerings – maroon, tan, brown, blue, black, and charcoal.
Speaking of charcoal…  Another novel product line guests were introduced to was My Magic Mud.  This line of tooth whitener and toothpaste is made of an unlikely ingredient – charcoal!

And another unique ingredient was the basis for skincare line Tumerica – turmeric!  Tumerica offers a multi-step line of products that includes a brightening facial mask, a facial repair serum, and a pore-refining facial mask.

But it wasn’t all about the luxury products – the afternoon also offered a touch of culture, provided by the larger-than-life mural artwork of pop artist Rolland Berry.  Berry’s vibrant colors served as the perfect backdrop for the gourmet luncheon my girlfriends and I enjoyed.

As we sipped mimosas and indulged in the savory meal prepared by Hilton Executive Chef Alberico Nunziata, we couldn’t help but spot some familiar faces – a little bit of rain did not deter celebs from coming to enjoy the fun! Academy Award winner and eight-time Emmy Award recipient Cloris Leachman was seen floating about with some of her favorite products from the afternoon!

Fashion stylist Derek Warburton came for visit, along with TV personality Georgia Toffolo.  Also making an appearance was “IT girl” Lady Victoria Hervey, television star Caroline Hennessy, actress Claudia Wells, and Olympian and NFL wide-receiver Willie Gault.

Overall, it was an afternoon to remember and the perfect way to prepare for an exciting Oscar weekend!
