In the last few weeks, I have learned how to make do with what’s in my home to make meals. I’ve learned to not waste items that can be reused in another dish, and now I feel deeply grateful for my dining-out experiences, something Angelenos often do many times a week. There has never been a lack of excitement in LA’s food scene. Today I would like to reflect on a local Santa Monica sushi establishment across from the Santa Monica pier that has been around for a long time serving contemporary sushi with non-traditional ingredients – Sushi Roku.
Today under coronavirus lockdown, Sushi Roku’s kitchens are still open with white glove curbside service Wednesday – Sunday from 5 – 9 pm. Wine and sake bottles are now 50% off for pickup order. Orders of $50 or more using curbside service will receive a $20 Dine-In bonus card to use when the dining rooms reopen.
Sushi Roku can be also be found on Postmates, Doordash, and Uber Eats. Delivery is free.
Besides sake and Japanese beer, wine and whiskey, new custom Japanese-inspired craft cocktails have been added to the Santa Monica and Pasadena locations made with only the freshest ingredients from Sushi Roku’s master mixologists. New cocktails include:
Golden Age
Dreaming of sashimi and sushi a lot recently but also thinking about Sushi Roku’s tofu, baked cod, Japanese fried chicken, fresh poke, crispy rice with Wagyu on top, Wagyu Sushi, White Lotus roll with shrimp tempura and wasabi truffle soy, Grilled Lamb Chops, and more. Below are some more of our favorite bites.

Sushi Roku combines the finest, freshest fish from pristine waters around the globe with the kind of artistry that can only be provided by a mature sushi chef ensuring superlative traditional sushi, together with a splash of California innovation.
