Never Leave LA

Evolue Skincare Beauty

JeanSeoFor the last month I have used the new Evolue skincare line from Beverly Hills. Created by the witty Jean Seo who has proudly tried, tested, retested, and then tested again every product and ingredient. “I evaluate the most obscure ingredients and products, so that you’ll never have to. I go to the ends of the Earth to source the highest quality ingredients, to create the skincare line I can be proud of.  I have followed my heart, never settled, and created the luxurious skincare line that you deserve.”

Evolue’s opening in 2010 was where I discovered this beauty product heaven near my new house on Robertson. I knew it was a good spot because they carried LaLaScoop Ladies all time favorite skincare line Arcona. Jean explains how she researched clients needs and made creams and serums for them. “It used to come in a blank white jar and I would put their names with a pink sharpie. It took 2 years to create a line of skincare specific for my clients who are the pickiest women of Hollywood, whose job is to be beautiful. Good thing is, I had them to test my products. So I only test on actresses, never on animals.”

The skincare product line is perfect for people with sensitive skin or those who want to slow signs of aging. Isn’t that everyone? We are all trying to hold on to the fountain of youth. So, when I was given six products to try, of course I didn’t say No!

My favorite skincare products included:

This cleansing, exfoliating and brightening powder smells and feels a bit like oatmeal.  You pour a coupleERASE-direct-small_500-1 tablespoons in your hand and add a bit of water (half the amount) to form a paste. I would massage this all over my face then let it sit for as long as I had patience, then wash it off.  Retail Price: $15.00

This gentle exfoliator removes the top layer of dead skin containing blackheads, while also removing impurities effectively without irritating/burning skin and leaves skin flawless. What makes it special  are the ingredients below and that quickly your new, good skin is brought to the surface. Benefits also include healing blemishes and lightening scarring and hyperpigmentation, and removing fine lines. Apparently, men can use this too to prevent ingrown hairs.

  • Whole Grain Organic Oat Flour: Pulls out toxins and exfoliates.
  • Hormone Free Organic Milk Powder: Imported from Japan, who sources it from New Zealand, and dried at low temperatures to preserve the nutrients and enzymes. Packed full of amino acids to leave your skin feeling smooth, hydrated and radiant.

This dipper wand from organic biodynamic alcohol, aloe leaf juice, witch hazel, and more offers acne sufferers spot control. The solution does not smell great, so perfect to use before bed (or when no one is in your bed). The solution clears and flattens blemishes. I even used on my bug bites while traveling in Myanmar for some repair. With 12 herbs, this is the ultimate stick clearer and healer. Retail Price: $15.00

This oil-free moisturizer feels creamy and doesn’t absorb super quickly, but is perfect for keeping your pores unclogged and preventing breakouts while controlling shine. Some of the ingredients include Purified Water, Low Molecular Weight Hyaluronic Acid, Vegetable Wax, Glyceryl Stearate, and Biotech Extract. Retail Price: $68.00JpSqUGpykYwhtCtMNcdvJU0bO4afMOC8LBsOfsvZSmk

Evolue also offers these products with their 3 step skin solution sets called Lue by Jean Seo. Other products I tried included Evolue Reverse Time Serum (which I need to use more consistently to see the results), Evolue Gentle Cleanser, and Evolue Exfoliating Cleanser. What I like about the Exfoliating Cleanser is that you can leave it on your face for 20 minutes as a mask.

These products are not about good smells, but about good results with stellar ingredients. Evolve your beauty with Evolue (which means evolve in French).

[…] One of the best cuts and blow outs in the WeHo neighborhood comes from Jin Bang who sees his clients at a salon on Robertson Blvd. My blowouts never last more than a day and his expertise had mine still looking good on day three. I was lucky to have him snip and shape my locks when he was in town. He travels the world often educating stylists and salon owners alike, so you  must contact him in advance to inquire his availability as a stylist, colorist, or educator!  His impressive resume includes being a lead educator for Prive, working on countless celebs, and spearheading the advancement of the first USDA NOP certified natural styling line available for the professional industry. Jin has many talents, and currently is also the Director of Business Development at Evolue Skincare. Learn more about our Evolue experience. […]
