Guru Jagat and Invincible Living, her new book

When you meet Guru Jagat you know you have met someone special, just being in her presence feels otherworldly. Sometimes I think she holds the wisdom of the universe as she shows her students at RA MA Institute in Venice, California how to use ancient techniques of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation to help upgrade their body’s operating system, and often hit a reset button.

My first class many years ago ended in my body being so sore I could barely walk, but it was a good thing. My mind felt clearer and sharper, and after a sound bath I felt lighter and more compassionate to the world. Her class feels like a sort of church or sanctuary for your mind and spirit.

Guru Jagat is the youngest senior Kundalini Yoga teacher in the world and the face of the new Kundalini movement. She is the founder of RA MA Institute for Applied Yogic Science and Technology, a premiere Yogic institute with locations in Venice, California and Palma de Mallorca, Spain.

Guru Jagat’s other entrepreneurial pursuits include RA MA TV, the “Netflix” of Kundalini Yoga, and her record label RA MA Records. She has been a featured speaker at Emerging Women conference, Wonderlust Festival, Kripalu Center and the Omega Institute.  Her non-profit work has culminated in the the founding of the RA MA Foundation whose mission is to introduce this fastest growing modality of Yoga, Meditation, and Wellness to underserved populations throughout the United States and abroad.

Recently we connected with Guru Jagat at a charity event, and we couldn’t wait to get a copy of her new book Invincible Living, The Power of Yoga, the Energy of Breath, and Other Tools for a Radiant Life. The visual book offers powerful, practical tools for both inner and outer transformation.

QUESTION and ANSWER with GURU JAGAT:

Q: What made you decide to write this book of useful tips and practices?

A:   The Yoga, Meditation, Spirituality and even fitness scene can be intimidating for all sorts of financial, physical, and cultural reasons.  I really believe EVERYONE needs fast and effective tools to handle the onslaught of pressures of this age. So I wrote Invincible Living as a way to give these effective, life changing and efficient tools to the masses.

Q: Of course, I went right to the sex section on how to maximize orgasm benefits. Tell us about the cold shower benefits, and what two tools you recommend for the utmost sexual pleasure benefits, for someone new to the practice?
A: Well…sex IS a science! Cold showers are incredibly immune boosting and collagen producing.  They have amazing fatigue busting benefits as well. In terms of sex—try sexting, flirting, dancing, and making out for 72 hours before you actually have sex.  It’s an ancient practice to increase energy and deepen the actual sexual occasion.

 

Q: For women trying to conceive, are their practices you recommend?
A: Yes–Sat Kriya is very good for women’s vitality and hormone balance.

 

Q:  What are the benefits of Kundalini yoga?
A: Metabolism boosting, mental clarity enhancing, physical body toning ALL in one session. Kundalini Yoga is your spin class, therapy session, meditation, and superfood smoothie wrapped up into one!

Q: Why do you think most people in LA come to your classes?

A:  I believe they come because it makes them feel better, look better, and BE better!  It is the same effect Kundalini had on me; why I kept coming back and why I want to bring these teachings to others.

Q: How often do you recommend someone who is just starting out practice kundalini yoga?

A: 3 minutes a day is a great place to start.

Q: What makes you a guru of the practice? We hear you are the youngest Guru.
A: Guru in the Kundalini lineage just means “teacher” and I am that!

 

Q: What is one thing you are most proud of in the last year?
A: Launching RA MA FOUNDATION to bring wellness, yoga, and meditation to underserved populations!

 

Q: What do you like about living in LA? 

A:  Where do I start; backyards, avocado trees, my surfer man boyfriend, and “kissing a sunset Pig!”
